This is the Little Red Roaster Blend brought to you by Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. This is a blend of high quality coffees from across Central America. Deep and complex, this mix of dark and light roast coffee is sure to please. This cup is fantastically full bodied, with notes of honey, caramel and baking spices.
A bit too flat and bland. Noticed some sweetness but not nearly as full bodied as my first blend (Deep Space). Not sure if I could tweak how I brewed it (v60) but didn't love it.
A bit more smokey and darker of a roast than I'm typically drawn towards. I think this a great coffee for when the family is in town and you're looking for something that's not too fancy but definitely packs a punch in bold flavor, just not the flavors I was hoping for.
I like this better than the first one.
Amazing! balanced & smooth. Love it!
This is my favorite of the two I have received. I find it a bit more mellow and a nice way to ease into the day. Gone are the days when I need a "JOLT" to get going.
Pretty good. Maybe something a bit stronger if possible
I generally really enjoy this, it's a little darker than we tend to drink, but that's not a complaint!
The flavor was good but not great. I usual make my coffee in a chemex or v60. At times it tasted watered down.
Really liked this one. Just shy of a 5 start
more like this please
Balanced and smooth!
This bag was worse than the first one. I know the first was one a lighter roast, but the coffee was more flavorful and memorable. This bag the coffee was smooth but just seemed a little bland. I felt like it was the same as drinking Maxwell House....weak. I think I prefer coffee with a bold taste. When I buy coffee I usually choose a Sumatra blend, but I also like light roast too. If could describe my perfect cup of coffee it would be deep, smooth with a little kick, flavorful and aromatic.
Too acidic for me.
Paul and Sharri
Much better than previous Full bodied Nutty flavor but not acidic or sour Very enjoyable cup at any time of the day
It has a robust taste, but I felt like I could taste the "green" in the bean, which may only make sense to me. By that I mean it tastes almost like the beans were harvested too early, or maybe they just taste young. Also has a sour aftertaste.
As tasty or better than the first coffee batch. Delicious.
I don't love it. There's nothing really interesting about it. I think I'd prefer something that's not a mix of dark and light. I like light lights and dark darks - does that make any sense?
This one didn't really excite me. It felt like a very typical blend.
Favorite method was with the Chemex. Very chocolaty and early on had a nutty feel. Overall though very muted and mild flavors, I tried shifting my ratios and brew time but it did not help.
This is a great coffee for people who like bright, sweet coffees. I was surprised at how tart it was, but it is well balanced by the deep, nutty, chocolate flavors. What a nice surprise! This is definitely a great breakfast coffee or dessert coffee. It would balance out well with anything either sweet or salty. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is for my coffee history here on Mistobox. This is definitely a five star coffee if you love these sorts of flavors! I prefer medium blends that are more fruit forward.
While the aroma is underwhelming, the chocolate flavor is smooth and the smokiness adds complexity. The finish to the coffee was lasting and great. However, overall it was more bland as it seemed to have little brightness, and the flavors toward the dark end weren't well pronounced. Overall, it wasn't a bad blend, but not a remarkable one either.
Flavor profile is accurate to the description, but I think the blend is a bit on the lighter side, as opposed to a true "medium roast." Would recommend to anyone that likes a fairly full body light coffee blend.
I love the aroma in this bag, but did not find that a lot of that translated to flavor. This is a little bit of a lighter roast than I usually go for, with a bright acidity up front that fades into a medium toasty flavor. A good cup of coffee, I just prefer a darker roast.
Great first coffee! Took me a while to get all my Chemex equipment set up for the first time, but I really enjoyed the taste of the coffee.
Some of the best coffee I have had. Very smooth but flavorful.
This coffee lives up to it's bold packaging
Overall has a nice balanced blend. Easy to drink, I'd say it's a lighter coffee.Generally like this one. It's a good every morning coffee.
Loved all the flavors of this brew.
This is a good coffee. Not overwhelming or overpowering. Tastes buttery and delicious. Didn't wow me but I definitely liked it. It's subtle, I wouldn't turn down a cup of this but it also probably wouldn't be my first choice. I will enjoy it all month long. I love the story behind this coffee and the dedication to the little red roaster.
Coffee was good but a little too overpowering with chocolate flavors. A little too rich flavored for us.
Very nice coffee. Enjoyed the nuttiness very much. Would certainly buy again.
This was yummy, although a little on the light side. I prefer a bit more boldness in my coffee, but the tasting notes on this were perfectly nutty.
nice blend of smooth and rich.
Perfectly bold but not too bold... Loved the nutty favors! My favorite so far
A little too acidic for my liking. I like a fuller flavor. My boyfriend enjoyed this more though.
Liked it a lot but somehow, when used with a chemex (vs. a v60 for example) flavors didn't jump out as much. Hard to pin point what was missing here, sorry if it's vague, just didn't feel like 5 stars even though I liked it.
Smooth mellow and nice balance and aroma
This was my first coffee shipment that I was slightly disappointed by. I missed the rich caramel and dark chocolate flavors I'm used to. It wasn't the worst one I've had, but it wasn't the best either.
Not my favorite.
Where have you been my whole life, little red?
This was a five star coffee for what I asked for (something dark with a chocolate taste). Unfortunately, the chocolate was totally overwhelming for me. I prefer a darker bean with a little sweat on it, rather than a dry lighter colored bean like this one. It was a great selection for me, given the criteria that I gave, but just much chocolate. Maybe nuts, carmel or toffee would be better for me than chocolate.
Burnt caramel note and sour aroma overshadow subtler tastes.. Smooth but nothing special - diner coffee. Mystifying why Seth calls this "fantastically full bodied."
To be frank, this blend was disappointing. Both the smell and the taste left me searching for hints of anything unique but in the end it was just bland.
Chocolaty and definitely nutty. Well balanced, I really liked it
My preference is for the Atomic Blend, but this one is a very nice roast, as well. Chocolate and traditional aromas.
Smooth but not the most bold flavor.
Seemed pretty bland
Great finishing coffee!
I didn't get the smokiness or nuttiness. Came out really flat.
Tasted a little stale
This is just OK, not bad, not great. I wouldn't buy it again when there are better coffees out there. I make it as double espresso with an Aeropress.
This coffee was decent but not a standout. First impressions after opening the package, I noticed the dryness of the beans and the lightness of the roast. I would have preferred a darker roast and a fresher bean. The cup was not as characteristic of past shipments and lacked that oomph I was looking for.
This is a really quite excellent bag of coffee. Exceedingly well balanced.
Wasn't fond of this one, not darkly roasted enough for me. Brewed coffee had a papery/cardboardy taste, even in french press and aeropress. Not my favorite.
