The Brazil 45 Espresso was carefully roasted for you by Equator Coffees & Teas. This espresso blends combines three exceptional coffees from various regions in Brazil. True to coffees from this area, this coffee is blended and roasted to bring out full bodied texture and notes of dark chocolate, cinnamon, graham cracker and deep jammy fruit notes.
My husband loved this blend. Will be getting it again!
My favorite of the three so far! I definitely get the dark chocolate plus a sweet peanut butter w/ cinnamon. Not getting any fruit jam as described but it's a sweet and full espresso. 18g. finer grind than usual, pulled slightly long at 30 seconds and 4 oz. of steamed milk. The kind of espresso that makes me look forward to the morning.
-update- day 10 after roast date. adjusted my shot to 20g. The fruit bloomed. It's like a creamy blueberry and it's strong on the nose. This espresso just got even better!
Nice roast and the tasting notes are spot on. I would have personally preferred a more earthy/woodsy flavor, but this is very nice for a chocolate-forward espresso roast.
Very smooth and complex with no noticeable bitterness.
Nothing I didn't like about this coffee. It was great !
Really nice espresso. Classic profile.
Smooth and easy to drink, like I like it. Nice flavors. Only Kona coffee has gotten 5 stars from me.
I wasn't super impressed with this coffee. The flavor felt a little to 'safe' for my taste. It's
Bold and flavorful - so far I'm really enjoying this blend and can really taste the dark chocolate/jammy fruit mix.
-Was the Brazil 45 Espresso better or worse?
It was better than the Dillanos roast
Was the coffee acidic or sour? Bitter? Burnt or roasty?
straight espresso pulls were bitter-ish, i don't typically drink this way so my palate may not be accustomed to espresso without milk.
Was the color of the bean lighter or darker than what you typically enjoy?
I'd say it was about right - not enough experience to confirm yet.
Bold flavors. Tastes great in my latte.
Definitely not our favorite. Bit too bitter.
This is a great cup of coffee. The jam finish perfectly compliments the roasty chocolate notes. I typically don't like darker blends, but this was a pleasant surprise.
I find this coffee to be weak and it doesnt do well with milk. It will overpower all of its notes instead of chocolate. Other then it will be good if it's stronger or without milk.
Great for Espresso.
I liked that this coffee was well rounded. It didn't seem to have any major tastes that overshadowed the others. I wish though that the cinnamon taste was stronger. I love cinnamon in my coffee. I like the strength of the coffee as well. Also I don't know if this is part of the coffee or not, but it was a lot eaiser to grind in my hand grinder than previous coffees.
I enjoyed the coffee but thought it was not as flavorful as I would have expected. The flavor was too subtle.
We liked this coffee. However I think we prefer brighter coffees.
Nice combination of tastes, very smooth.
Rich and a bit darker than the other coffees I've tried.
Rich and very smooth!
This espresso roast is amazing! Completely in love with the chocolate & spice taste notes
Nice combination of roasty flavor with some intrigue. Great body - which is key for me with espresso.
It smells great but it is very weak tasting after brewing. At first I ground 2 Tbsp/6oz as suggested but it was very weak. The next time I doubled my Tbsp but it was still very weak in taste, just like water.
Wasn't super fond of the fruit notes, but made a good cup of coffee regardless!
I liked this one a lot. It was my first one so i dont have anything to compare to. I really got the dark chocolate out of it. I might like something with a fruiter note if thats a thing lol.
I must say I'm rather baffled, as well as disappointed, with this selection. I took the trouble to write a fairly complete summary of my espresso equipment, experience and preferences. I can't find that summary I wrote anywhere on the site now, so I hope you were actually able to see it.
In any case, I indicated a preference for single-origins, roasted "light" or "medium" on the subscription settings page, even absent my summary. I'd really like to understand your thought process in recommending a 3-Brazil, darkly roasted espresso blend to someone who drinks espresso only. To be frank, I'm not sure I'll actually use the coffee, beyond the few shots I made this morning to dial it in and taste it. Regardless of Equator's assertion that this is a "medium" roast, it's dark, oily, and smells like a Starbucks.
Well balanced coffee. The chocolate and spices are forward and pleasant throughout the cup.
I enjoyed the full bodied flavor and the rich chocolate flavor. While I got the cinnamon and graham cracker via the scent of the un-ground beans, I didn't get it via taste.
Far too fruity for me. The citrus notes were able to balance out the taste of blueberry enough that I was able to get it down, but I didn't care for this one. I prefer the fruity ones to be more jammy than berry, though I'm sure others like this a lot.
A new favorite! A darker roast with great chocolate flavors and some layers of flavor that make it tasty but easy drinking as well
rich, smooth, and very enjoyable
A perfect dark espresso roast. Hints of earthy tones with chocolate undertones. Bold and dark but light and refreshing. Not bitter! I really like this flavor profile, great choice!
Really like the smoothness and full bodied cup, and really appreciated the chocolate notes. My palette might not be too up to par, but I only got a bit of the dark fruit notes. I'm not a fan of cinnamon at all but I wasnt able to discern that from my tastes. Definitely think its a great coffee overall.
Really good strong espresso with hints of fruits and caco
Smooth, bold, flavorful, delicious. Great pick for our first bean in the subscription.
I really loved this coffee. Tons of flavor, and different profiles as it cooled off.
Love it, best coffee ever!!!!!
I used this exclusively for double shot lattes in the morning with ~12oz of whole milk. These beans are quite strong with an earthy, chocolatey taste making a latte more like a dark chocolate mocha. Amazing. These beans also appear to be abnormally caffeine dense. I only have one drink per day, around 8am, and after finishing this I was still energized at 6pm. These are my new favorite beans.
Very well balanced and smooth medium/dark roast, love the subtle graham cracker taste and aroma. Used in milk based espresso drinks and as straight espresso. 20g in / 35g out / 28sec / 202degF
It has a smooth, deep and satisfying flavor that gives a comforting sensation. (And it does smell like graham crackers!)
David and Polly
Quite good. Would prefer a darker roast (but not black) and richer flavor.
Love it. I love the thick crema and the notes of cracker and chocolate but I don't taste the cinnamon, as described. Heheh! But I don't mind. It's overall really tasty..
It was a bit darker and more bitter then expected.
Solid 3.5/5. Not as full bodied as it was described, which is fine. Low acidity, moderate chocolate, spice and sweetness. Good crema.
The dark chocolate and fruit notes are great. Tasted lighter than expected.
It was super tasty! I definitely like where it is going. Very smooth and has a nice sweetness. I think I found it slightly light but it's a good breakfast coffee. I gave it 4 instead of 5 because I feel like it's missing just a little something but can't put my finger on it.I think the aroma. When I opened my mailbox it has this amazing delicious small but those aromas I don't taste or smell as much in the coffee itself. Maybe also just a touch more body. This is from after having about 3 cups of it so far.
3.5: I say 4, he says 3.
This is a great coffee I wish it was a little stronger
This coffee is delicious. I like the dark roast without the bitterness
I like it. It smells delicious! It's very tasty too. The bag is almost gone. I've been drinking two [big] cups a day.
it tastes almost like tea and not rich like coffee usually is.
