The Costa Rica Helsar de Zarcero was carefully roasted for you by Ladro Roasting. This honey process coffee was sourced from the growing region of West Valley in Costa Rica and was produced by Ricardo Alvarez at 1,650 - 1,800 meters. We love this coffee for its nuanced notes of baking spices and fruits and rich, silky body.
I'd give this roast about a 3.5 stars. It was good. I enjoyed the brightness, and the lighter roast was good. I think I prefer my tasting notes to be a little sweeter.
I just tried my first cup of this. It's not a low quality. It's just not what I'd prefer. I can warm to the sublety of the light roast with subsequent sips, but frankly, I'd rather just really be into my coffee upon the first sip. All of this is highly subjective. In previous reviews I've suggested what kind of flavors I like in coffee. I like a bold medium roast with coffee/wine/cherry flavors. This is just not that.
