The Ethiopia Wazzala was carefully roasted for you by Ceremony Coffee Roasters. This fully washed coffee was grown by the various small holder producers in the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia between 1,800 - 2,000 meters above sea level. We love this coffee for its nuanced notes of tropical fruits with a great citrus acidity and a juicy body.
First taste brewed with kalita wave 185. 390g/w to 26g/c. This coffee is incredibly smooth, silky, and sweet. Hints of stone fruit up front and a velvety finish. This coffee is amazing, but too sweet and smooth for my palate. I prefer a single origin with more bite. This coffee would easily be a five star if it was not specifically due to my personal preferences.
Brewed with a Chemex. Has a fair amount of juicy stone fruit paired with an even keeled roast. Unlike some very fruit forward varieties, the acidity is constrained in this bean. Would make a great cup using an aeropress as well, although I finished the beans before getting a chance to try it out.
Great as a pour over or in cold brew. Subtle and smooth with great citrus tones in it...not just lemon!
I'm getting mandarine, lavender, and honey. Somewhat like a fruit punch. Also a bit of chocolate / balanced notes. Very good!

honestly, i almost swore off ethiopians. this gave me hope. amazing.
Really love this one and find it to be the definition of balanced. There are nice earthy (but clean) notes on the low end with peaches and floral flavors up top. This citrus they advertise may be there, but it's subtle.
The acidity is there but never overbearing and doesn't cross the line into sour. . Really enjoyable from the first sip to the last.

I loved this coffee. It brought a vibrant experience to my cup every morning. Fruity and balanced and full of life.

A great Ethiopian coffee from ever great Yirgacheffe region. Very similar to other Ethiopians with a clarity that really shines when brewing with paper filters. The coffee definitely has more acidic fruity notes (read: citrus) rather than the floral/blueberry notes that are also well established in Ethiopian beans. Overall a strong contender that provides some diversity but not necessarily a risk to comfort zone.

Pretty tough to dial in- wasn't particularly juicy or fruity
This is one of the most unique coffees I've had. The tags say fruity and citrus notes, but I didn't really experience those profiles as the prominent flavor. Lavender being the most up front (which I surprisingly loved) and orange peel/mint seemed to follow as the most prominent profiles. The lightness of flavor combined with the silky feel and low acidity made this coffee a unique and a one of a kind bean. Thanks for this choice!
I'm really liking this one. I like the overall profile–it feels a little brighter that then previous two, but I'm not sure there is anything that is standing out in the flavor for me.
This was nice and light with a noticeable fruity tones... It might have been a little too fruity!
Really enjoyed this one, especially as espresso! Lovely floral notes.
I prefer this one to Verve, it's a little smoother tasting, and a bit less tart.
Both are good, would like to try something from another region to expand my tasting experience

This coffee was good...not great..but good. I had trouble picking out any really distinct notes....all in all a bit more like some Central American or South American coffees with more toasty notes...not the fruity notes expected of an Ethiopian.
I brewed this iced via the Japanese flash method in my Chemex and it was fantastic. The flavor is amazing and juicy is definitely the right description. I think I just found my favorite bean.

The Ethiopia Wazzala is incredible at a 20:300 ratio! I love the complexity of the cup -- tastes great as it cools as well.
Wow. What to say about this outspoken roast...? My first thought when I tried this was "too much of a good thing!" I really enjoy fruity citrus coffees, but this bean turned those flavors up to 11. The first few sips of each cup were excellent, but I found myself wishing for a little more subdued flavor for the rest of the cup. All that said, I'm glad I got to try this bold bean.
I like this coffee. nice fruity cup, good acidity, mouthfeel was good, just lacked that extra wow factor.
Unfortunately I did not enjoy this coffee. I usually love every Yirgacheffe I have but this one seemed off. Seemed to lack depth in flavor and had a distinct "roast" taste.

Wow, blown away again but in a different way! Immediately hit with a delicious floral flavor, almost tea like, followed by a sweet acidity with slight nuttyness.

Nuanced flavors of lemonade and berry that increase in complexity as the brew cools. The acidity is present, but not overwhelming which can happen in Ethiopian coffees at times. Overall, probably the best coffee that I've had from Mistobox so far.
I think that the initial flavor palate for this coffee is under developed. It definitely has a berry/peach like fruitiness that is refreshing, but it vanishes relatively quickly, falling to blandness and being over-delicate. I actually had to make my grind size more fine to get any length of taste for this coffee. I liked were it begin to develop in its flavors but was disappointed in the final execution.
By far my least favorite washed Ethiopian so far this year. I simply could not get this dialed in at all whether V60 or Clever. Not one cup was distinguishable. Thin, lacking any discernible flavor other than maybe faint black tea. Smooth but no punch or real interest whatsoever. A Yirgacheffe should not be like this, at least in my experience.
First impression: light and very smooth, but a bit insubstantial somehow, not enough body (and net weight was short - 11.7oz v. 12)
Body seemed a bit thin. Not enough fruit notes to really overcome that. I only tried it with a pour over. Might try it with an aeropresses and see if I can extract a little more. Not bad though.
I usually would like to wait to write my review after I've tried the coffee on a few different brew methods, but I couldn't wait to write this! This coffee is INCREDIBLE! Notes of lavender really permeate the aroma, it's intoxicating. The body is light and is closer to tea. To compliment all of this, the coffee is bursting with a citrus acidity and is sweet throughout! Great job from Ceremony and Mistobox!
Ethiopia Wazzala has grown on me. I started out thinking it was ok, but the more I brew it and really sit down to enjoy the cup, the smoother and juicier it gets! I've become a big fan of this coffee after my first cup I was kinda disappointed. But it really is a complex taste and the notes of fruity and citrus really ring through the entire cup, sip after sip!
More of a tea flavor overpowering this roast.
I really like this roast because of the floral notes and the the light bright taste it has, almost like tea. Would love to find more of these types of taste profiles.
I liked this Yirgacheffe but I tend to get a little tired of them after a couple bags. To me, this coffee represented a solid Ethiopian, very fruit forward, pretty delicate on the tongue.

Tired, some fruit, muted flavors, baggy
Excellent coffee. Light, sweet, slick with stone fruit notes. Balanced acidity/sweetness. Complex flavor with a welcoming flavor profile. Overall great coffee.
Citrus notes are extremely good here and make for a really light summer drink. I made this as an iced pour over and find the floral / juicy elements refreshing. Definitely less acidic than the Guji.
Definitely can taste the citrus, but otherwise seemed to be a little bland.
Classic washed Yirgacheffe. First cup brewed with Kalita Wave had intense tasting notes of peach and apricot with lavender scent. Second cup brewed with V60 muted some of the floral aromatics (going to change grind size for next one, I think it was too fine), but resulted in a great fruity cup with just right acidity. A pleasure to drink and I think I can push this coffee even further with more fine tuning.
While the cup is nice and floral, it ended up being a little too bland for my liking. Would have loved for the acidity and citrus to shine through but never really got anything substantial from it. Still a good cup that I looked forward to on warmer days when I could make it iced.

This coffee was different than what I was expecting from the tasting notes. When I see Ceremony I know I'm always going to get something good. This coffee in particular from them was something I had never tasted. I brewed this Ethiopian mostly on a Kalita Wave 185. The longer the brew time, the more flavors that came out as it cooled. Most of the brews I was getting an acidic mouthfeel and taste. Definitely had berries, but somewhat muted. No particular fruit note, but was definitely juicy and flavorful throughout. Definitely a different Yirgacheffe than I've had this year.
