This is the Zambia Kateshi & Isanya Estates brought to you by Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. This fully washed coffee was sourced from the growing region of Kasama in Zambia and was produced by the various small holder producers at 1,340 - 1,400 meters. We love this coffee for its nuanced notes of citrus and black tea.
I do think I got a bit of the sour citrus notes, but other than that, I didn't find the coffee very interesting. I was searching hard for the notes of black tea, but couldn't find them. A lot of this is probably just an untrained palate.
Love this coffee. Made in a Chemex at 15.7:1 ratio. Mmmm, strong notes of lemon. Very little bitterness. Almost tastes like drinking a good glass on tea with lemon. Really enjoy the citrus notes.
This coffee was lacking in the full bodied flavor that I had hoped for and it leaves one with really terrible coffee breath.
Beans are lighter than I usually buy but I am enjoying this coffee. Finding it balanced, roasty and smooth. My favorites from the sampler shipment was Mocha Java Blend and the Corsica Blend.
Honestly my favorite so far! Would love more coffees from the region or roaster!
Very acidic and tart. Maybe I just didn't find the right way to brew this coffee, but I could not get past the acidity and bitterness.
